The Power of a Vision Board: How to Manifest Your Dreams

Introduction

The power of visualisation is often underestimated. However, research has shown that visualising oneself succeeding at a task can be incredibly effective in achieving success.

A study by Psychologist Gabriele Oettingen found that participants who visualised themselves succeeding at a task were more likely to achieve their goals than those who didn’t visualise.

So why does visualisation work? It’s thought that when we visualise ourselves succeeding, we create a mental image of the success, motivating us to achieve it in real life. The visualisation also helps us to believe that success is possible and makes us more confident in our abilities.

Based on the Metaphysical studies, we are all the creators on this plane, and our visualization is linked to the Universal Law of Attraction that some now call the quantum field and to the Law of the Manifestation.

If you want to start using visualization to boost your chances of success, one of the simple tools that you can use is the Vision Board.

What is a Vision Board?

A vision board is a powerful tool that can be used to manifest your dreams. It is a board on which you display images, quotes, and other items representing your goals and want to achieve.

By placing images of your desires on the board, you are creating a visual representation of what you want to achieve. This helps to keep you focused, inspired, and motivated as you work towards your goals.

Looking at the vision board daily helps to keep your dreams and goals as a priority in your mind so that you can take action steps to make them happen.

The Benefits of Creating a Vision Board

There are many benefits to making a vision board, including:

  • It helps to clarify your goals and what you want to achieve;
  • It helps you to connect to your emotions and assess the mental state you want to have by achieving your goal;
  • You get a better understanding of what’s important to you and why;
  • It helps you to get in touch with your deepest desire;
  • It sets you up for success;
  • It keeps you motivated and inspired to reach your goals;
  • It is a reminder of what is important to you and what you are working towards;
  • It helps you to make connections between your heart desire and energy field waiting to be manifested into your reality;
  • It supports the growth of your confidence and self-esteem.

Types of Vision Boards to Help You Achieve Your Goals

When it comes to visualisation and manifestation, there are different types of vision boards that can be used to help you focus on your goals. Here are two of the most popular types of vision boards:

  1. Goal-Oriented Vision Board: This type of vision board is all about helping you achieve specific goals. You’ll want to include images and affirmations that relate directly to what you want to achieve.
  2. Life Map: A life map is a bit more holistic, covering different aspects of your life, such as your career, relationships, health, and personal growth.

How To Create A Vision Board?

Creating a vision board is relatively simple.

Step 1: Clarify what you want

First, you must identify what you want to achieve/ manifest/ be, do, and have. What are your goals? What makes you happy? What do I want to experience and enjoy? This could be anything from starting your own business to going on a dream vacation. Your primary goal in creating a vision board is to achieve clarity about what you want.

Step 2: Collecting the material

Once you have a good idea of what you want, start collecting images and quotes that inspire you and represent those goals. You can find these things online, in magazines, in newspapers, or old photos. The sky is the limit regarding what you can use to create your unique vision board. You can also draw, paint, handwrite, and use different colours or materials. Be free and creative, and connect to your goals.

Add positive affirmations, cut from the magazines or you can also handwrite.

Example:

“I am successful.”

“Today will be a productive day.”

“I am healing and getting stronger every day.”

It is essential to balance what you want to achieve and how you want to feel when you achieve your goal.

Step 3: Put on your board

Once you have everything collected, put it all together on a poster board or in a scrapbook that is pleasing to the eye. You can try to place all you want before you use a glue, stick or a paste.

If you have all items digitally, you can create a Vision Board online or on your computer using various applications like Microsoft Paint or Adobe PhotoShop. Then you can keep the image or print.

How To Use A Vision Board?

Hang your vision board in a place where you will see it daily, such as on your fridge, bedroom, or office. If you have it digitally, you can use it as your mobile or computer screen wallpaper.

As you look at your vision board, imagine yourself achieving your goals and visualize what your life will be like when you reach them.

The first step is to see your goal clearly in your mind’s eye. What does success look like to you? Take the time to imagine it in as much detail as possible—the more vivid the image, the better.

Connect to your feeling.

If you can, spare a few minutes to meditate on your vision and feeling and see it as if it has already happened. Use affirmations during this process.

Keep a journal of your progress and celebrate achievements.

How Often Should You Update Your Vision Board?

There are no rules about how often you should create a vision board, but some people find it helpful to do it regularly.

Treat a Vision Board as a ‘living  canvas’.

At Wellness Coaching and Healing, we recommend using a Vision Board that aligns with your 3-monthly Vision Statement.

You can also have one Vision Board for long term goals i.e. Yearly Vision Board.

Listen to your intuition and do what feels right for you. There is no wrong way to use a Vision Board. The important thing is that it works for you and helps you manifest your dreams into reality.

Conclusion

Creating a Vision Board is simple: first, identify your goals and what you want to achieve. Then, find images and quotes that represent those goals. Finally, put everything together on a board or piece of paper where you can see it daily.

Use it daily to connect and feel your goals being manifested.
